ERC-20 vs SPL: choosing your token standard

ERC-20 is the fungible-token standard on Ethereum and EVM chains (Base, BNB); SPL is the equivalent on Solana. They do the same job, but differ in fees, speed, tooling and where your users are, so the choice is really a chain choice.

Why it matters

Why it matters

Pick the wrong chain and you face high fees or the wrong audience. EVM has the deepest DeFi, liquidity and tooling. Solana has very low fees and fast finality, popular for memecoins and high-frequency apps.

How GetYourDev does it

How GetYourDev uses & builds it

GetYourDev deploys either, ERC-20 with battle-tested OpenZeppelin patterns, or SPL via Solana’s token program, after a testnet rehearsal and source verification. If you’re unsure, we recommend the chain based on your fees, audience and tooling needs.
